Coming back to my favorite birds, there is a whole bird family I am captivated by. Waders. One of the most widespread in the Palearctic is the Common Sandpiper.

It is a small shorebird spending most of the time in pairs along water and gathering in flocks on migration.

You can encounter this bird walking along rivers and lakes or seasides. They are really fun to watch and I can spend hours observing a pair of Sandpipers enjoying their time on a seashore. Some of the shorebirds are very active and quick.  Common Sandpiper like many other waders has the characteristic movement with its tail while they walk or feed as they are bobbing.
